Lyme Life Monday ~Distractions

Lyme is such a distraction. It detracts from everything else. I can think of many things that do likewise. It could be a job, a difficult circumstance, or a person consuming your energy and your thoughts. Maybe, it’s some other disability or long-term illness. Like Lyme, there are other things in our lives that might cause us to become nothing like the person we are meant to be.

You are brilliant. No matter what you believe your disabilities are, no matter how broke, how limited, how small you feel, you have a divine purpose. You are the light of the world. It may seem to be a tiny world, but it reaches much further than what you can possibly know.

There is something no one else on earth can do. There is some problem that only you can solve. There is need only you can fill. You have a value that cannot be measured. Your dignity is required here.

Lyme discomfort distracts us in many ways. It saps energy, but also requires energy to treat with elaborate protocols and carefully ordered steps. It costs a ton of money. Then, there is the drain on others to help take care of you, get to appointments, run everyday errands that others might do along their way. It grinds on our psyche, as we sit as still as possible to avoid painful joints, or we writhe in pain unable to find any relief. We get aggravated and irritable or weepy and reclusive. We can feel like we are loosing our minds from the frequent long-term stints of sleep depravation.

Lyme and other things distract us from the good in our lives. If left unchecked, we may destroy that which is good in our lives.

I’m sure that you can relate, without Lyme. As noted, lots of other things can cause the very same kinds of physical, emotional, financial, and mental hardships.

Natural things distract us from doing the right and profitable things.

What are right and profitable things? They are the ethereal things that make the world a wonderful place. It doesn’t matter what is going on around us, if we are soothed, loved, protected, and cared for by ourselves and by others.

When we don’t have these things around us, life has never been so harsh. There are caring people in the world. If you feel you are in that kind of lonely place, reach out.

Be kind, tenderhearted, forgiving one another… No matter what is going on in your body or your situation, you can do these things. Farmers who wait for perfect weather never plant. If they watch every cloud, they never harvest. Don’t wait until you feel like it.

Use Scriptural affirmations to fill your mind with faith that you will get through the hard times. Sometimes, it’s the only thing that feels positive.
