National Right to Life’s Disgrace

I’m not sure exactly where and when they went wrong. They have been the national pro-life organization since Roe v. Wade. That was almost 44 years ago. 44 years of continued killing. Also, 44 years of wounded women. Clearly, 44 years of failed efforts. Now, National Right to Life’s Disgrace is evident.

What have I to say?

What do I care? I’m alive. I made it out, right?

Many of us care. We care about all those people; the dead, the wounded, the lost. I care about the people that are in the business of abortion. I care about all the people that suffer from the effects of abortion. The lousy state of our economy, the deplorable status of children and the gross disrespect for the lives of people in general.

Maybe you don’t see it and maybe I am focused on it too much. The stories of child abuse, child sexual abuse, murder, pain and grief of adults who have suffered abound. Women coerced into sex trafficking and forced to submit to abortion are among us. They won’t tell you. It’s not like it’s the weather. The trauma isn’t dinner conversation. They tell me, though.

What does National Right to Life have to do with it?

Experience

In my work with my state right to life organization for over 25 years, I have had the opportunity to serve in many ways. Recently, I have dealt with our political action committee. The PAC is responsible for recruiting, promoting and supporting pro-life candidates.

We send a survey to all candidates. It is very common for candidates to seek our support. So, we talk with them about their positions and it is very common for them to believe they are totally pro-life. They think that it’s pro-life to ban abortion, except in cases of rape or incest.

Often, in my conversations, they will tell me how horrible rape is. Yes, I know. I really know. “It’s worse than death,” one said. So, even though he fully acknowledges that every child from conception deserves protection, he would not ‘force’ a mom to carry a baby conceived by rape. She already has a baby.

It is so frustrating. There is either a baby worth protecting or there isn’t.

Elitists

There is no leap in logic in that. The idea that some children are disposable because of their parents’ criminal behavior is completely illogical. It is an arbitrary qualifier. Who’s to say that a parent won’t commit a crime after the child is born? We would NEVER advocate killing the child then!

Back to National Right to Life, “What is National Right to Life’s Disgrace?” They lost their logic. Somewhere along the way they started to endorse candidates with exceptions. Not just rape and incest, but potential poor in-utero diagnosis too.

For us state groups, it means that we have a lot more work to do to expose the faulty thinking. I call it a confused compassion. It is compassion without a compass. There is no solid ground to it. Every woman going for abortion has a reason or reasons.

Women need to be supported and helped with the problems that caused the crisis. Of course, we care about women. If the crisis was rape, let’s find ways to help her. She needs that, whether she is pregnant or not! Let’s not further traumatize her by killing her baby.

Love them both

The life of the mother comes up in conversations too. That’s not an exception. A real doctor recognizes that there are two patients. If a mother cannot continue to carry a baby to term, she may need an early delivery. Which may mean the child will die. The difference is that an abortionist will go into a woman with instruments, specifically to cut up and kill a baby.

I’m pro-life. If there were two people in a car, about to go over a cliff and I could only grab one, then I would grab that one. It’s stupid to think that someone who is pro-life would want a mother to die with her baby.

When we say pro-life, let’s know what we are talking about. No exceptions to intentional killing.

Let’s not legally kill any innocent people; not babies before or after birth, not injured, not infirm, not disabled, not elderly, not senile, and let’s just not have qualifiers.

We are each unique individuals, designed for a purpose beyond our own selfish desires. You are important. Of course, you are valuable. You matter. So do they.

How are we going to stop this travesty?

Use ALL the tools and arguments to stop abortion, and talk about “good choices” like safe dating in safe places, abstaining or using birth control (some abortions are for married women).
Woman’t health – avoiding 55 possible STDs also avoids unwanted pregnancy.
Science – 23 chromosomes are from the father – it’s another person with unique DNA.
The “kitten test” – would you destroy a 5 ounce new born kitten? Some aborted babies weigh 5 or more ounces.. Would you destroy a 5 ounce newborn panda bear? Don’t destroy a baby!
Would you destroy a Dr. Martin Luther King? A Steve Jobs, the founder of Apple? (While God is not a respecter of persons, ordinary people may respond to this logic)
Use all the possible arguments to promote life.

Agreed with all but the “birth control”… all forms of hormonal / barrier methods except the condom can be abortifacient. Pills / injections do three things: they attempt to stop ovulation, they thicken cervical mucus, and they create a hormonal imbalance in mom to ensure that if there is a “breakthrough ovulation” (aka a conceived baby) the womb will be made inhospitable to accept life (aka her body will be tricked into thinking she’s not pregnant and the baby will die, unable to implant to get nourishment and pass out with the menses). Barriers like IUDs do not prevent ovulation, but prevent implantation, meaning they accomplish only the third of the objectives of pills / injections. If statistics could be taken for all the lives lost to contraception, they would dwarf those of surgical abortion. (So for example DepoProvera – which also tricks a woman’s body into thinking she’s in menopause and leads to rapid bone loss in just a few short years – has a less than one percent “failure” rate. Using the most recent US census numbers, if every woman in America was on Depo, the number of babies lost due to this one drug would equal the population of NH – each month.) Many of the drugs women take to prevent pregnancy are class one carcinogens and come with warnings that they may cause breast cancer. Take any contraceptive name and type it in at fda.gov to get the labels that come in their packages. The fact of the matter is, if abortion is a big lie, contraception is even bigger.

I AS A CONVERTED BELIEVER IN RIGHT TO ABORTION, NOW SUPPORT LIFE, NO MATTER WHERE AND HOW IT WAS FORMED. WE KNOW HOW IT CAME TO BE, GOD ALLOWED IT. US HUMANS DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY GOD ALLOWS A LOT OF THINGS TO HAPPEN, BUT HE DOES. ACCEPT HIS DECISION AND SUPPORT IT.

Unfortunately, they have anchored a “pro life” faux group in Colorado as cover for the GOP who back any Republican without any standards, vetting, nothing. CRTL stands strong against exceptions and so the candidates use this pseudo group as cover and bypass our vetting process. They are called Colorado Campaign for Life backed by NRTL and the fake LifeNews. It’s absolutely disgusting how they get away with this evil. We will not fold, but NRTL and LifeNews have undercut us on many occasions.
