Governor Kasich Vetos Heartbeats

This week, the governor of Ohio was presented with a bill, duly passed by the legislature. It would ban abortion once the baby had a discernible heartbeat. He chose to veto the bill. “...in the public’s interest,” he said. “Governor Kasich vetos heartbeats,” I say.

Theoretically, it could have been costly to his state. There would most certainly be some abortion supporters, who would bring an injunction against it. The costs to deal with it in court might be a reason to allow the brutal murder of tiny babies, right?

How much are you worth? What about your child or grandchild? I say that you are of inestimable value. There is no price. What of thousands of babies? And what of the women who will submit to an abortion, only to regret it after it’s too late?

Perhaps, more people would question abortion, if a bill such as the Heartbeat Bill passed. Even if it were in court, under an injunction and -In the News!

Many more people would be talking about abortion, prenatal development and looking into what abortion is and what it does to babies, their moms, and families.

More people might question the validity of the so-called “right to abortion.” The right to kill one’s own child, as long as no one else, other than the killers see the child.

Maybe more people would consider why the abortion industry is so set against decreasing the choices for women.

Maybe more women and girls would be free from their abusers, who use abortion to cover their crimes.

I think it was cowardly: Governor Kasich vetos heartbeats of babies when the legislature worked so hard to protect them.

Vetos Justice

To Quote a portion of Martin Luther King’s letter from his jail cell in Bermingham:  “We know through painful experience that freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed. Frankly, I have yet to engage in a direct-action campaign that was “well timed” in the view of those who have not suffered unduly from the disease of segregation. For years now I have heard the word “Wait!” It rings in the ear of every Negro with piercing familiarity. This “Wait” has almost always meant “Never.” We must come to see, with one of our distinguished jurists, that “justice too long delayed is justice denied.”

Further, he admonishes the moderates of his day. I will paraphrase for the Pro-Life community.

{To make two honest confessions to you, my Christian and Jewish brothers. First, I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the moderate pro-life groups. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Preborn’s great stumbling block in his stride toward the very right to live is not the White House, Supreme Court, State Politicians. It is not even the Abortion Industry. But it is the pro-life moderate.

ProLife Moderate

The who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice. Those who constantly say: “We agree with you in the goal you seek, but do not agree with your methods of direct action.” The leaders who paternalistically believe they can set the timetable for another person’s freedom from the brutality of abortion. Ones who live by a mythical concept of time. And the same who constantly advises the 100% Pro-life and Personhood groups to wait for a “more convenient season.” Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.}

This is my country. I hang my head in shame.
