Healthcare Settings

Darlene Pawlik grew up with many adverse childhood experiences (ACEs). Life as a child included child sexual abuse (CSA) and domestic child sex trafficking (DMST). For many years, the manifestations of complex trauma plagued her. Therefore, she was constantly learning how to become a better wife, mother and nurse. It took decades to understand the impact that the core violation of sexual abuse had on her life.

She shares her lived experience and years of work in the anti-trafficking field with healthcare professionals so they can intervene earlier. Prepare to respond to those vulnerable or victimized by human trafficking. Studies show that the majority of people exploited for sex were in healthcare settings during their exploitation. Chronic illnesses and poor coping with drugs and alcohol skyrocket among people with high ACEs. Learn the definition of human trafficking. Become familiar with the signs of high ACEs, CSA, and DMST in a friendly, interactive workshop. You may save others from years of trauma.

Social Services and Law Enforcement

Darlene Pawlik grew up with many adverse childhood experiences, including CSA and DMST. Living on the streets and in and out of foster care, there were ample opportunities to engage in criminal activity. Arrested for soliciting prostitution on numerous occasions while in her teens didn’t help. One social worker change the trajectory of her life forever. She shares her lived experience and years of work in the anti-trafficking field with social services, first responders, and law enforcement professionals regularly. So, you can intervene earlier: before the need for incarceration.

Pro-Life Events

Darlene Pawlik was supernaturally transformed by God’s grace. She was conceived by a violent rape and grew up feeling worth less than others. Targeted by traffickers at 13 years-old. Sold for sex on her 14th birthday, she was trafficked for years as a young teen. The man holding her threatened to kill her if she didn’t have an abortion. After a dream of an abortion procedure, she convinced him that she went through with it to get free.

She and her husband of almost 30 years have raised five children together. Darlene is a small business owner, speaker and leader. She served as a trustee and as an officer, including president of her state’s Right to Life organization for most of 25 years. Darlene also served as vice president of Savethe1, a global nonprofit pro-life organization whose members are the so-called “hard cases” in pro-life discourse.

Darlene Pawlik is an author and speaker at theDarlingPrincess education company. She is also a juvenile sex trafficking survivor. Darlene has worked with the NH Human Trafficking Collaborative Task Force, NH TraffickFree, Thrive New England’s Human Trafficking Summit, and provided custom workshops and presentations about human trafficking through her education company for years. An active voice on local tv and radio, she is always working to stem the tide of exploitation.
