Calling You out
The Church is like to moon.
The Church, meaning the entire body of humans that trust Jesus as Savior by the grace of God, is supposed to reflect the Son. We, as we grow in the knowledge of Him, start to think more like Him and then begin to act more like Him and then become more like Him.
However; even when the moon is at it brightest, in the fullest and most brilliant moonlight, you can still see the craters, crags and dark spots.
I know the Scripture tells us to become a Bride without spot or wrinkle, but it is only by our trust in Him that we move into the filter of the Son that becomes the way the Father sees us.
In other words, we are a mess. None of us is perfect here on earth. No group, not one denomination has it all together. Nope. It is only Jesus that is perfect. He alone can be our Way.
So, the next time you want to call the Church or even a person hypocritical, just remember that we should call out sin, but that doesn’t mean we have none.
I also know there are some rude, obnoxious people out there, but I’m talking about the ones who are trying to point others to God by pointing out what is on His lists of good and bad. They may not be perfect, but they are trying to reflect Him anyway.
Wouldn’t you rather someone told you if you had a big ugly spot on your face, than to let you walk around without knowing?
