5 Smooth Stones
What are the five smooth stones the Pro-Life community will pick up to defeat Planned Parenthood? What strategy will do the job? What principles are needed? This has been the basic premiss of multiple books, articles and speeches, but here’s my pick.
Of course, the story of David & Goliath is the basic reference. In that story, David, a mere youth, ran toward a fully armored giant with a sling and five smooth stones. The story says David killed the giant when one of the stones hit him and sunk into his forehead.
As a metaphor, the story has great significance for all kinds of trials and has become so popular that school children today might even know it. It may be found in 1 Samuel 17.
There is no first, no top priority, not one of these things may be lacking for abortion to be outlawed. Yes, I want to make abortion a punishable crime. I believe it is murder in the first degree for abortionists and manslaughter for moms. I explain my position elsewhere.
The UL Article that sparked my imagination was written last week.
One side does not fit all. One side of the story isn’t enough for people. The reporter had some information and spoke to people, but quoted only the proponents of Abortion. The principle of First Mention is at work here.
Information dissemination must be on our list. The pro-life people must let the apathetic, the distracted and the numb know what is going on. We must show and tell the reality of the situation in every way we can. Of course, this encompasses the whole life approach without exceptions based on any arbitrary criteria.
Different groups are tasked with exposing the varied assaults. So, some show abortion, some euthanasia, and some show how they are the same and what the impact has been on the country or the world. ProLifers need to get the whole truth out to the public.
Ask the questions that we cannot bear. In this article, MA US Surgeon General for Boston warned that it was very important to watch as NH brings Planned Parenthood of Northern New England (PPNNE) to court. Why would he want to protect PP’s funding?
What could his motivation be? Is he ignorant of the real purpose and business of PP? Or is there something more sinister going on here? Why does he want PP to thrive? I don’t know the first thing about finding out, but some people know exactly how to get those answers.
Demand an end to taxpayer funding to abortion franchises. When our little state’s Executive Council declined funding for PPNNE in 2011, the federal government gave the money directly to them. What stake does the federal government have in the murder of tiny babies? The article indicates that the White House was briefed on the current suits and the 3-2 vote to decline PP funding this term. Isn’t that alarming?
Planned Parenthood brings in loads of money. According to their IRS docs, it spent a million dollars on fundraising and 1.5million influencing public policy in NH. They neither need, nor in any way, deserve your hard earned money. I hate that money stolen from my paycheck goes to an organization designed specifically for mass murder.
Fungibility allows PP to use money that they might use for overhead for marketing or during the executions of abortion with zero oversight here in NH.
Engage at every level of society. What will the history books say about us as a nation? We have an opportunity in our country to change the culture. In other places around the world, people are imprisoned or worse for speaking out. I think pro-life people are best at this, but every level isn’t possible without principled messaging.
There is so much information out there for people. Surely, we have seen the information explosion. People are overwhelmed. They are frustrated. They are unable to process it all. ProLife leaders, whether speaking, writing, or performing have to be solidly principled. Every life deserves protection or none do. You cannot be pro-life with exceptions. That makes you elitist. Only elitists think they should determine who should be killed.
We provide for needs of the poor when we donate goods, services, and money to life affirming centers. Families first, then churches, then non-governmental organizations serve communities by providing for the needs of families. Children are our future.
Oh, I know that there are some elitists who have decided to find the cure for everything and live forever, but really: that is a hoax. We live forever by teaching, leading, and imparting into the next generation. We lost sight of this with the advent of abortion and medical technologies. People invent. People develop. People make the world a wonderful place. More people means a better life, if they value the lives of others.
Pro-lifers do this really well, but if we are to change the hearts and minds of a generation, we’ll have to do it better and we will have to let people know how to access help. NH has ten times the number of family planning resources as it has Planned Parenthoods.
Why doesn’t everyone know this? Maybe because PP spends so much money letting people know they are there. That should change.
According to Linda Griebsch, executive director of the abortion facility in Greenland, it would be difficult to find an agency that could take over the Planned Parenthood franchise.
“Certainly not to the magnitude that Planned Parenthood does,” she was quoted in the article. That’s right because PP kills about 5,871 innocent human beings every week. We have subconsciously devalued life by our movies, music, history of war, and abortion.
What is your part? What aspects do you focus on?
