Ungoverned

From laws enacted by lawmakers and rules decreed by agencies, most of us are highly regulated in every aspect of our lives. We get permission from the government for all kinds of things and we register activities for continued monitoring. Businesses and business owners are especially impacted. Teams of lawyers monitor new legislation and evaluate compliance to make sure we are not ungoverned.

Ungoverned

We live in a surveillance society with increasing anxiety and unrest. Polls show that we distrust the government but submit out of fear. Laws are passed regularly. Some of them get lots of press. Others are allowed to go under the radar, I dare say sometimes, at the behest of the lawmakers themselves.  Agencies put out massive amounts of regulations, few attract attention but they have as much impact on our lives as the law does with far less recourse.

If we contest a law, we can approach the courts with redress of grievances but if we contest regulation handed down from an agency, we address the agency and their own internally defined process by their appointed panel.

Some entities have more oversight than others. Abortion vendors have far less oversight than many other businesses in NH. Pregnant women go into the facility and come out without their children. The rest is shrouded in mystery. There is no licensing, no health inspections, no audits, no ongoing process certifications, no safety procedure manuals reviewed by government officials, no designated standard of information given to women who submit to abortion, no requirements for women to certify that they understand the development of the child that will be destroyed by the abortion or the risks to their own lives here.

I have been privy to many such proposed acts over the last 20+ years. In various roles, have followed or testified on behalf of them before the legislature here. I have advocated for what seems like common sense to me. This is life and death. It involves an invasive surgical procedure. It destroys a human being and deeply affects women and their families, as well as their futures.

Few Heroes in Government

We have some genuine pro-life heroes that serve us here in NH. I am very grateful to each of them but they are out numbered and out gunned. NH has half a dozen Planned Parenthoods and a few other abortion vendors. Unregulated and self-scrutinized, they act with less regulation than your hairdresser or your grocer. Neither of these activities involve the determined destruction of a human being.

What to do? NH is basically a volunteer legislature. There are 400 seats in the House of Representatives, 24 Senators, five Executive Council members and the Governor. The terms are two years. They are busy from the election, with most intense activity from January through may. The pay varies from $200 per term for House Members.

If you have the means, volunteer.

NH Right to Life Political Action Committee has the connections and resources to help you get started. Those who serve the cause of life in NH would be grateful for your help. This year, there were more than a dozen proposed acts that would have provided various levels of protections for NH citizens. Thankfully, one passed both houses but it won’t protect women from the ungoverned abortion vendors.

It was relative to assisted suicide and end of life decisions. Bravo, to those who fought to get that done.

With all the regulations, rules, and laws in place to govern the average Joe making your coffee, don’t you think it’s time to protect NH citizens from the ungoverned?

If you’re interested, contact me or NHRTL PAC. We’ll help you think through ways you could help.
